David Edward Perloff, M.D.

David Perloff, MD is a board-certified cardiologist who has served the community of Broward County since 1997. At Perloff Cardiovascular Care in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Perloff specializes in general, preventive, and invasive cardiology. 

Dr. Perloff received his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami, where he graduated summa cum laude. He earned numerous awards and honors, including the James McKnight award, the McGraw Hill book award, and the John M. Marsh Prize, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honorary society. He subsequently completed three years of internal medicine training and three years of invasive cardiology training at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.

He is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians. He is also the immediate past-President of the Florida chapter of the American College of Cardiology and has been active on their Board of Directors for many years. His previous appointments include the Chair of the Department of Medicine at Broward Health Medical Center, the Medical Director of Cardiology at Florida Medical Center, and the President of the Broward County Medical Association (BCMA). He proudly served on the Orange Theory Fitness Medical Advisory Board for many years and continues to be active on both the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees of the BCMA.

Dr. Perloff has been certified to treat workers’ compensation patients since the beginning of his practice in 1997 and is involved in all aspects of high-quality, evidence-based, compassionate care. He serves as a treating physician, performing record reviews and independent medical evaluations for both plaintiffs and defense. He also is honored to serve as an expert medical advisor for the courts on workers’ compensation issues.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Perloff is passionate about medical education and teaching. He is a clinical associate professor at NOVA/Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine and an assistant professor at the Florida International University College of Medicine. He has been actively teaching residents and medical students at Broward Health Medical Center for over 20 years. He has won numerous awards for this, including Attending of the Year (twice), Most Valuable Physician Award at Broward Health Medical Center, Outstanding Attending Physician Award, and the American College of Physicians – Florida Chapter “Community-Based Teacher” award.
