Mrs. Bernal, a native of South Florida, has been practicing Cardiology Nursing for over 16 years. In 2018 she was awarded the prestigious Daisy Award for nursing excellence at South Miami Hospital, Baptist Health South Florida. She is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with a practice focus on Cardiovascular diseases. In addition, she is also a Certified Oncology Nurse with experience in Stem cell Transplant and cardiac stem cell research at the University of Miami.
She graduated from Florida International University’s Master’s Program in 2018. She completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Miami where she was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honorary Society for Nurse Practitioner academic excellence. She has an extensive background in Invasive cardiology, Vascular medicine, and Electrophysiology including implantation of office based medical devices.
Raquel is passionate about providing personal quality care to her patients. She believes every patient has the right to be involved in their care and to feel empowered to make informed healthcare decisions by communicating directly with her. She strives to improve the quality of the care of her patients by ensuring an individualized treatment that is holistic and evidence-based. She is also fluent in Spanish.
